Unselfishness
-True friends think of others, not just themselves

-Be generous. Best friends have learned the joy of giving.
Understanding
-Be someone who tries to see things from someone else's point of view.
-Learn the art of listening
-People who are understanding have positive attitudes- they believe in people
-Best friends encourage rather than discourage you.
Courtesy
-Being courteous means being considerate, making others feel comfortable and at ease.
-Courtesy is treating others with respect; it is not stuff formalities.
Responsibility
-You can count on responsible people .. at work, home, school, church, and as friends.
-Irresponsible people make life difficult for those who care about them; they let others down.
-Responsible people are mature enough to be accountable; they don't always blame others.
-Irresponsible people blame others or make excuses to escape self-discipline.
Not Perfect but Growing
-Even our best friends have their flaws; no one is faultless, but everyone needs to be growing.
-Pick friends whose faults you can accept and whose good points outweigh the bad.
-Accept their shortcomings because you see positive qualities
-Is your friend going in the right direction - growing or deteriorating?
-Best friends may make mistakes, but they are learning to make better choices.
