Hello! This is my second post. Today is about the trip I went during the weekend with a friend of mine and the friend's host, we went to a park and did all sorts of activities, such as sight seeing and climbing (my first time ever). However, that's not the whole point. The main reason of this point is this....the park where we went had to first walk across a bridge over a river; I couldn't remember the river, it was either the Inns or the Donau, I'll have to check, I'll confirm later.
This is the part, even though the entrance of the park is in Austria...get this, this rest of the park is Germany's!!! How did I know this? It's all because of my friend's host sister. We wouldn't have realized if she hadn't told us. She told us to look at a small circular shape place on the side of the bridge; you was small that you wouldn't even notice. The circle shape was on the middle of the bridge; with the initials 'Ö l D' ...recognize?
Well, the Ö is the initial for Österreich; Austria while D is the initial for Deutschland; Germany. So this whole time, I came to the park in Austria, but I went into the park in Germany (sounds confusing huh? Don't worry, I'm starting to confuse myself, haha)
It's amazing!!! Even though I know that in Europe you can go into other countries easily, but they should have at least put signs that are easily noticeable like a 'Welcome to Deutschland' or something. I never thought of a small circle piece on the floor of the bridge to be the sign, hahahaha
AFS really does give you new perspectives and experiences ^^
